Perspective and Perception

2013

Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts
Philadelphia, PA
Paint, glass, sculpture, light
738 sqft.

Hundreds of Philadelphians were prompted: “Draw your life as a line.” These drawings were collected, etched into glass, and assembled to project overlapping shadows. Large-scale, figurative painting framed these drawings in the context of public mural painting, exploring the theme of individual perspective vs. collective voice in public art.

This temporary installation was commissioned to commemorate 30 years of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program.
